Bring your child to work day

As someone who has for the past four years answered the question, "So what do you want to do?" with "I don't know/underwater basket weaving/drop out have 10 kids ya' know/ become rich and famous" I wish I could have participated in a program that would have enabled me to gain real-world experience without the real-world education price tag and angst in job application and training.

Bring a Student to Work Day!

The program for the Undecideds. The program to promote companies and students both at the same time. The program would have applications on both ends, for the students (high school and college and neither?) as well as for the companies or individual employees. Students can apply for a specific field or maybe fill out a questionnaire with likes/dislikes etc and then be paired with possible jobs (like simplified Meyer's Briggs test). Employees would fill out an application with their personal job details and opportunities in which they could have a tag-along. Employees and students would get paired up and voile! Perhaps a better idea of what you want to do/be in life/as a career. Real-world knowledge, free labor for employers for a day, it's a win-win situation!

Don't have kids? Bring a child to work day just became bring someone's child to work day....
